The Adult Stem Cell Foundation
The Adult Stem Cell Foundation is a philanthropic (not for profit) charitable organization that advises un-well people how to get access to Adult Stem Cell Therapy (ASCT).
The Foundation promotes campaigns on how to prevent or limit the progression of degenerative diseases. Degenerative disease is an uncontrolled escalating world problem that if not controlled has the ability to bankrupt our health systems, and very little is done
The purpose of the Foundation is to show that people suffering from a degenerative disease like Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes 1 & 2, Stroke, Alzheimer's, Spinal Cord injuries, Liver diseases and Myocardial infarction (to name a few) can now receive Adult Stem Cell Therapy that may change their quality of life for the better. The Foundation wants to also help children suffering from any debilitating or degenerative disease such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism, Spinal injuries, Cystic fibrosis and ADHD to name a few. Stem cell treatments have progressed in leaps and bounds in these areas and we have state of the art clinics that specialize in these types of diseases. Because they are still growing, children can usually benefit substantially from an early intervention using stem cell therapies.
The Adult Stem Cell Foundation has also become the Information Centre in Australasia for clinics that have demonstrated they abide by the highest medical standards, and have a proven track record with these therapies. This allows the organization to provide local advice to patients; streamlining and improving the process.
The goals of the Adult Stem Cell Foundation:
- To publicize nationally and internationally that Adult Stem Cell Therapies that are now available and to encourage as many people as possible to take advantage of them.
- To raise money in the way of donations from benefactors, including private and commercial sponsorships. Principal activities also includes providing medical information on degenerative diseases for Doctors, health professionals and the general public. Running awareness programs to endorse healthy foods that may prevent the onset of degenerative diseases.
- To provide information to schools on healthy diet and lifestyle to help prevent these diseases (including resources for teachers), and providing scholarships and fellowships for study of degenerative diseases and their treatment.
- To promote a National/International awareness campaign on how to prevent the onset of degenerative diseases. New stem cell enhancing natural products (backed by science) are now available that stimulate the body's natural release of Adult stem cells from the bone marrow into the blood stream.
- Science now recognizes that this simple process is one of the keys to all the repair and renewal processes in the body.
- The Foundation's goal is to have as much impact and awareness in the community with Degenerative Diseases, as other high profile Foundations have done with Breast Cancer like the McGrath Foundation. Offices in other countries are being opened including New Zealand, South Africa, India, the United Kingdom and France
- Donations are Tax deductable by the granting of Deductable Gift Recipient status to the foundation on the 20th April 2010 (Subdivision 30-A of the Income Tax Assessment Act)
- Fund Raising opportunities are now available for enthusiastic members of the public to help raise money for many worthy people suffering from degenerative diseases, especially children.

Run Raw 2013
For a couple in Australia, the new year started off with a goal much bigger than most. The couple plans to run a marathon every day this year, having nothing but green smoothies every day; their journey gaining global recognition having recently been featured on CNN News.
The couple will not be using a Vitamix or a Blendtec, but instead chose the Optimum as their blender of choice. With an extensive knowledge and experience in the blender industry, Alan Murray and Janette Murray-Wakelin have decided to trust Optimum due to the blender's quality and performance, blending smooth green smoothies in seconds with a durable blender guaranteed to last the journey.
Alan and Janette departed from Melbourne on New Year's Day morning for the first of 365 marathons in 2013. The couple are grandparents in their 60s running to raise money for charities and awareness of healthy living. Their route, and further explanation of their mission, can be found on their site, Running Raw Around Australia.
Janette was diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 50s. She was told she had 6-12 weeks to live, according to a story at Yahoo News. Murray-Wakelin declined traditional treatment and began eating a raw diet to treat her cancer. The couple has eaten a raw diet ever since. In fact, Janette has a book due out this year called "Raw Can Cure Cancer". Many studies regarding raw diets contest that one will get maximum nutrients from uncooked vegetables, fruits, and plant proteins. Most studies show that vitamins, phytonutrients, and enzymes are destroyed once they reach temperatures around 120-130 degrees. If these studies are true, the Murray's will be getting tremendous nutrients to fuel them on their 9631.25 mile journey this year.
Holly Perkins is a personal trainer, with a degree in exercise science and nutrition from Penn State, who shared some insight about the Murray's lofty goals.
First this issue of their raw diet was considered. Perkins stated that “the jury is still out on raw diets,” and pointed out the studies that show how light cooking of certain foods actually brings out the nutrients. So, eating certain foods raw, would actually limit how many nutrients one could obtain. However, Perkins noted that eating raw may be what works for the Murrays and all athletes need to find a system that works for them.
If the couple is able to complete their goal, they will fall into a rare category of elite runners. Very few people can sustain this type of activity without more recovery time. The reports haven't stated much about what pace the Murrays will be running, one can only assume it will be slow. However, the miles will still take their toll on their bodies. Most marathoners allow for nearly 6-8 weeks before they are considered recovered from a marathon; only running moderately during those weeks. So, is this activity even safe?
Perkins simply stated that it depends.
"The human body adapts," she said. Meaning, if the Murrays trained properly and recovered properly, it's reasonable to believe they can complete this goal. The emphasis being on proper training. Just as many will try to cut corners on normal race training, the body will most likely not tolerate it. Hopefully that's not the case for the Murrays. While this feat is possible, Perkins said, "most can't sustain that volume."
She went on to state that if one is running through pain or injury, their chances of completing the goal will be slim. Hopefully Alan and Janette are of the body type that Perkins referred to – the rare body that has perfect alignment and rarely sees injury despite the usage.
It is inspiring to learn of this lofty goal and nothing but well wishes are being sent to the Murrays. Hopefully come New Years Day 2014, the couple is ready for another great adventure to encourage us all to live all our days as healthy as possible. Or a nice long soak in a hot tub!

Hemp Foods
Hemp Foods Australia was founded in 1999 by Paul Benhaim.
Paul had been asked to come to Australia in 1999 to ‘do what he had done well in Europe’. Paul had founded the hemp industry in the UK by being the first to create a commercial hemp food product. After many years that food product – the ‘9bar’ hempseed snack bar developed into big business with every health food store and supermarket chain stocking it. The bar went viral and spread throughout Europe and is today the leading health food product in many supermarkets.
Paul wanted to create the same in Australia, a place he loved and where his family was to grow. An application was placed into ANZFA in 2000 and, after one of the longest recorded applications for a new food, was finally approved as a healthy food in 2002, only to be turned down by the Prime Minister of the time – John Howard.
This was disappointing, not only to Paul, but also for all Australian’s who could not access one of the healthiest and most nutritious foods known to man.
Paul had developed relationships with farmers, processors to make hemp seed oil, hemp protein and manufacturers to produce hemp snack bars, hemp pastas, hemp breads and more.
Nearly a decade later, and Paul is still loyal to the Australian hemp industry having founded or helped begin a hemp seed oil producer, farmers, body care business, hemp plastics and even hemp building. His main focus the past decade has been in developing a bio plastic from hemp that led to a multi-million dollar business and may be the future alternative to oil based plastics.
As Hemp Foods in Australia is considered again, Paul has honoured his original vision and passion – to bring hemp seeds, hemp protein and hemp oil to the masses. This has led to Hemp Foods Australia re-opening it’s doors to offer you the most affordable and highest quality hemp food products on the market. Even when you can only officially use hemp seeds for your pets or to rub on your body.
Why not come and visit our Hemp Farm in Byron Bay and meet Paul Benhaim?
You may be part of the growth of the Australian hemp industry – a plant that can provide food, fuel, fibre, plastics, paper and building materials to the masses. From one plant that grows in 100 days you can buy hemp seeds and oil today knowing you are investing in the future of yourself and the planet whilst supporting local Australian farmers in a sustainable and environmentally friendly industry.

The Gawler Foundation
Our story began in 1975 when Dr Ian Gawler developed bone cancer and had his right leg amputated. Later that year the cancer returned, and Ian followed an intensive health regime including good food, positive attitudes, meditation and loving support to beat his prognosis. You can read more about Ian’s journey in his book You Can Conquer Cancer.
Based on Ian’s experience Australia’s first active Cancer Support Group was established in 1981 to teach people how to increase their chances of survival from cancer and in 1983 The Gawler Foundation was established as a non-profit, non-denominational organisation to continue this important work.
From 1995-1999 the Foundation convened the Mind, Immunity & Health Conferences; the first conferences in Australia to address the learning needs of multi-disciplinary health professionals engaged in integrative medicine. The conference now continues under the guidance of The Australasian Integrative Medical Association (AIMA).
In 2002 the Foundation introduced a program to help people manage and halt the progress of multiple sclerosis lead by Prof George Jelinek, author of Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis.
Wellbeing retreats were introduced in 2004 to help people avoid illness and improve their general health and wellbeing.
In 2010 Ian Gawler retired from The Gawler Foundation to pursue personal interests.
Today the Foundation is a vibrant modern organisation dedicated to providing people with real options for improved health. We do not claim to have a cure for cancer but we do look to the healing experience of Dr Ian Gawler, the latest mind-body medicine research and the feedback of thousands of people who have been through our programs to help people create their healthiest lives whatever their circumstances.

The Raw Food Mum
Frequently Asked Questions
What are Raw and Living Foods?
Raw and Living Foods are foods that contain enzymes. In general, the act of heating food over 116 degrees F destroys enzymes in food. All cooked food is devoid of enzymes. Raw foods also have higher nutrient values than the foods that have been cooked.
Are we 100% Raw?
Both Hamish and I have been 100% Raw at stages in our lives – Sarah discovered Raw Food in 2009 and was 100% Raw for 18 Months and Hamish has was 100% Raw for 3 years from 2009.
At present; we aim to eat a 95% Raw Vegan diet. But that figure is really irrelevant as it is not about percentages its about including any amount of Raw Food in your diet, be it one meal or two meals or all three! Any amount of nutrient dense live foods is going to be good for and your children.
We made a decision to stick to all Raw in our home and if we were out an there wasn’t a raw option we compromise and will eat a vegan or vegetarian meal when out. That doesnt mean we eat a burger and fries. It means that if we are out we will choose a salad, or salad wrap in summer. And a soup in winter something like that.
We like to call ourselves Raw Foodies as we live and breathe Raw Food and at some stages we will be 100% Raw and others not all Raw. Balance is the key and what works for us may not work for another family.
Issy is not 100% Raw. She does however have a high percentage of Raw Foods in her diet. Most days she will eat 2 out of three meals Raw. These include Raw Green Smoothies, Chia seed puddings for breakfast. Raw snacks etc…
What food does Issy eat?
I steam veggies, but I will also include some raw veggies in her diet. Issy has always eaten her fruit raw.
I make Raw crackers and Raw Bread for her. As she gets older I find that she naturally gravitates towards RAW and asks for more of it. At 20 months she now asks for her Greenie (green Smoothie) most days!
She has been having Raw juice and smoothies since the age of 7 months. She nearly always has some form of green in her diet daily.
She eats chia seed puddings for breakfast made with almond milk. Fruit as snacks. lunch is often sprouted bread with avocado and or a nut butter. Dinner is steamed veggies with a vegetarian protein like temp-eh and occasionally she will have eggs. The only grain I really cook for Issy is Quinoa. But check out the recipe section as if not all, most of these recipes have been eaten by Issy.
I find that for children and for Issy it is not my goal for them to be 100% Raw its about getting more Raw into their diet. My instinct did not want to raise Issy all raw at such an early age, I feel that her digestive system is to immature to deal with so many raw fods, and to raise her as a 100% raw vegan I would have had to heavily supplement her diet, and I did not want to do this.
Food that Issy eats include cooked quinoa, buckwheat noodles, eggs and only because we have a family member who has free range very much loved organic feed chickens we also feed her eggs. .
At the age of about 14 months we also started giving her RAW goats milk kefir, you can read about the benefits of Kefir here. I try and exclude cows milk and cheese but if we are out she can eat a little dairy in a meal.
We also place a small amount of Raw Food on her dinner plate with her veggies. As she grows I will continue to include Raw Foods in her diet and we aim to bring her up high Raw. She does not eat any form of animal meat or fish.
Is there just one type of raw foodist?
There are many subcategories of raw foodists. Some include:
Raw Foodist – People who consume mostly Raw Food.
Fruitarian – People who consume mostly fruits.
Sproutarian – People who consume mostly sprouts.
Juicearian – People who consume mostly fresh juice.
What are the benefits of raw food?
Glowing and clear skin, weight loss, increased vitality and longevity. Raw foodists also say they don’t get sick as often with ordinary illness likes colds and don’t need as much sleep. Their energy levels are higher and don’t feel sluggish after meals.
When eating raw though it is important to select organically grown produce. Organic foods are grown naturally, and generally taste better as nature intended. Compared to conventionally grown fruits and vegetables are grown using pesticides, herbicides, synthetic fertilizers and other chemicals that can be harmful to your body and especially your childrens growing body.
Where do raw foodies get their protein?
I have never heard of anyone ever having a protein deficiency.
The World Health Organization says humans need about 5% of their daily calories to come from protein to be healthy. The USDA puts this figure at 6.5%. On average, fruits have about 5% of their calories from protein. Vegetables and nuts have from 10-25% of their calories from protein. Sprouted seeds, beans, and grains contain from 20-50% of their calories from protein. Numerous scientific studies have shown the daily need for protein to be about 25-35 grams per day. So if you ate 2,000 calories per day, and ate raw plant foods that had an average of 10% of their calories from protein, you would get 200 calories worth of protein, or 50 grams. This is more than adequate to support optimal well-being.

Derek AKA Mr. Meltdown
My name is Derek AKA Mr. Meltdown and I am on a personal and now public journey to lose weight and inspire others who follow me along the way
My weight loss journey is called “Inside The Journey” and has attracted over 10,000 subscribers and over 300,000 video viewsand counting.
I feel that now is the time to take charge of my weight and improve my health and overall lifestyle.
Some of the things that I deal with due to my weight gain
I suffer from sleep apnea, high blood pressure, knee and back pains and shortness of breath due to my current 415lb frame.
“I literally sometimes have to stop and take a breather when walking up steps” so as you can probably tell by now my weight has become an issue.
So I feel why allow anything to prevent you from living your life 100% when you can take charge are fix it?
What is something that helps to inspire me to lose weight?
I have a seat belt extension that I take with me when traveling via planes. I honestly hate asking for one in public because it is way too embarrassing so I purchased my own. I am certainly looking forward to eliminating this device from my lifestyle. View my video here: Click here
How has obesity issues affected me personally?
I have also suffered family loses due to weight issues. In 2006 I lost my only Sister Dawn and 3 months later my mother from weight related issues. I feel like when I lost my sister and mother that for me was the last and final straw!
I am finally at a point in my life where I am scared for my own life and want to live more than I want to eat the foods that has put me in this position.
I feel that there are many people like me who suffer from obesity and I want them to know they are not alone. For me going public with my journey will show others weight loss is possible.
I want people to know that I am going through the same challenges and that obesity is not a game. I feel that through my struggle and being someone who myself has the same issues of being overweight will allow people with the same issues could relate to me.
So this has now become my passion for not only helping myself lose weight but helping others so together we can beat this epidemic of obesity.

Whole Food Simply
I am not entirely sure how Wholefood Simply came to be. Perhaps it all started many years ago when my journey into clean eating begun. Perhaps it was much later than that, when I had a baby of my own and noticed how many children were eating processed and packaged foods. Or maybe it was not so long ago, when I mentioned to those around me that I wanted to show people that there was another way.
I suspect there were many roads that led me here.
Today, my aim is to make things a little easier for those who are embarking on the real foods paths. I want to help families who live with intolerances and allergies. I want to put fun and simplicity into what can sometimes be a daunting and dull experience. Ultimately, I want to create food that is enjoyed by all.

Bienvenidos a Oliver`s
